Gardener's Gilet 1 - Brown Patchwork
A one-of-a-kind lightly padded handmade gilet (bodywarmer? waistcoat? vest?), made with a soft sanded twill cotton outer layer in a rich tobacco brown, and lined with a cream colour linen viscose printed with a cute strawberry design.
Both layers have been patched together from leftovers of various dressmaking projects, with a light padding sandwiched between the two.
The gilet is finished with a decorative blanket stitch around all edges which has been stitched by hand (and by eye) with a cream Japanese sashiko thread.
This is nice to wear as an extra layer in winter, or throw on in the evening in warmer months.

Size and fit:
The bust (under the arms) measurement is approximately 105 cm. I’d class this as a size 14, but there are no fastenings so it’s worn open and would fit a 12 or 16 fairly happily too depending on how you like the fit. From shoulder to waist the length is approximately 47 cm.
How to care for this gilet…
Gently spot clean or handwash in cool water and dry flat.
This garment has handstitched details which may be prone to catching or pulling, please take care when wearing and storing.
